dust groups
Dust groups are a way that we intentionally facilitate discipleship. We gather together in smaller groups with the goal of becoming more like Jesus.
Dust groups involve about 4-7 people who meet on someone's house at a time arranged together. In these groups, we will:
- Scripture - we will discuss a few chapters of the bible that will have been set as "homework" from the previous meeting. We will discuss what the reading has taught us about Jesus and what God may have spoken to us each through the reading.
- Story sharing - we will give opportunity for people to tell the group about how they met Jesus and what he means to them today. This will equip us to be able to have conversation about Jesus with those who haven't met him yet.
- Kingdom stories - we love to hear of how people are interacting with others through conversation and prayer. Hearing and sharing stories of how God is using us and that God is doing some good things around us increases our faith.
- Prayer training - to follow Jesus and do what he does is to pray for the sick (physical, social, emotional ...). We learn better by practice, not theory so in DUST groups, we pray for each other and learn how to hear God's voice.
- Making Disciples - It is our intention that DUST groups are the main way that we invite people to come and learn how to be a follower of Jesus. To learn about him and do what he does.
